The program is primarily designed to equip graduates to facilitate the search for meaning and purpose in life and holistically serve the Seventh-day Adventist Church and community in the oceanic countries of the South Pacific.  It provides a sequential series of studies in the biblical, theological and pastoral disciplines including the personal spiritual formation of the student.  Graduates will have a foundation for ordination to pastoral ministry as well as being equipped for further study and specialisation.

230 points in FSF7E or its equivalent including a pass in English & Mathematics OR

PSSC result under 11 including a pass in English & Mathematics

Pass in Foundation Studies [Theology] including a pass in English & Mathematics

A pass in the Mature Age examination for those over the age of 22 yrs in the year of entry.

Computer Skills

Students will demonstrate general knowledge from the computer systems, use software and hardware, file management, keyboarding and basic word processing skills.  This is an elementary level for general computer applications, word processing, spreadsheets and power point presentations.

Literacy

Students will be required to achieve a Level 1 (a minimum of 70% in Entry Level 3) in the Future School Literacy software.

Numeracy

Students will required to achieve a Level 1 (a minimum of 70% in Entry Level 3) in the Future School Literacy software.

The program is primarily designed to enhance a graduate’s ability to take an active role in resourcing the church and/or specific congregations.  It does this by providing related studies in biblical, theological, pastoral and complementary disciplines.  Together these studies will enhance the graduate’s ability to build effective Christian communities of hope through a deeper understanding of Adventist identity, mission and ministry, through the contextual application of biblical principles in a multi-cultural and multi-faith Pacific and through enhanced pastoral care and counseling skills to empower individuals to transform life-crises and personal issues into building blocks for the future.

The program is primarily designed to bridge graduates from other disciplines to the discipline of Theology.  It provides a sequential series of studies in the biblical, theological and pastoral disciplines.  Graduates will have a foundation for further study and specialisation in the discipline of Theology.  Employment and ordination to pastoral ministry would normally be considered after the completion of a PG Diploma in Theology.

Provide a rational base for the student’s faith in Ellen White as one who was given the prophetic gift by the Holy Spirit and to reaffirm confidence in her writings as a product of that gift.

Evaluate some of the current criticisms and issues confronting the Seventh-day Adventist Church in relation to Ellen White’s ministry.

Develop and apply adequate hermeneutical tools for the interpretation of Ellen White’s writings in our time.

Formulate an historical framework for understanding theological developments within the Seventh-day Adventist community.

III.        Graduate Diploma in Adventist Studies

The program is primarily designed to provide graduate study for graduates from other disciplines to the discipline of Theology.  It provides a sequential series of studies in the biblical, theological and pastoral disciplines.  Graduates will be equipped to apply their faith in their life and contribute to life and ministry of their congregation.  Graduates will also have a foundation for further study and specialisation in the discipline of Theology.

Computer Skills

Students will demonstrate general knowledge from the computer systems, use software and hardware, file management, keyboarding and basic word processing skills.  This is an elementary level for general computer applications, word processing, spreadsheets and power point presentations.

Literacy

Students will be required to achieve a Level 1 (a minimum of 70% in Entry Level 3) in the Future School Literacy software.
